Cycling UK

Cycling UK - Let's make a better world by bike

Helping more people to cycle, more

often and to try cycling in mutually supportive and social groups.

Cycling UK is working closely with

local partners to understand and build positive relationships with groups and communities

in Suffolk to deliver cycling opportunities which are inclusive, sociable and

sustainable.

Community Cycle Clubs are at the heart of our programme

A Community Cycle Clubs is a group of people who come together to do cycling for whatever purpose they

choose. Clubs are run in all sorts of places including with older people’s

groups, women’s groups, workplaces, refugee charities, mosques and

veterans’ groups. The programme connects individuals

to their community to build social networks, feel well and enjoy being active

by cycling. The aim could be to reduce isolation, improve health and

wellbeing, develop skills and education, or just have fun. We have more than 200 diverse clubs

across England and Scotland, which have engaged with more than 50,000

people.

Funding is available for equipment and volunteer training for new Community Cycle Clubs

If you’re a community group or organisation in Suffolk who would like to develop

your own cycle club and benefit from the support and funding available for

equipment and training, join us and apply to become an affiliated community cycle

club.

Club reported they were: ·

·  Cycling more often

·  Starting to meet physical activity guidelines

·  Feeling healthier, happier and better connected to their communities
